The full-length tang (meaning the metal blade continues all the way through to the end of the handle) gives you a stronger and better balanced knife. Three rivets keep the tang attached to the black hygienic composition handle. This knife feels substantial and balanced in your hand. Although it is dishwasher-safe, it's best to hand wash your knives to keep the steel blades scratch-free.
